About the Organization: Gurucharan University, Silchar is a newly established State University in Assam, created by upgrading the historic Gurucharan College under Assam Act No. LVII of 2023. The University offers undergraduate and postgraduate programmes across disciplines including Science, Languages, Humanities & Social Sciences, Commerce & Management, along with newer and career-oriented programmes. Educational Qualification:

  • Assistant Professor: Candidates should have a Master’s degree in the concerned subject with at least 55% marks or equivalent grade, and should have qualified NET / SLET / SET or hold a Ph.D. meeting the applicable UGC requirements.
  • Controller of Examinations:
    • Candidates should have a Master’s degree with at least 55% marks or equivalent grade.
    • Working knowledge of computers and networking is mandatory.

Experience:

  • Controller of Examinations:
    • Candidates should have 15 years of experience as an Assistant Professor at Academic Level 11 or above, or 8 years of service at Academic Level 12 or above, including as an Associate Professor, along with experience in educational administration.
    • Comparable experience in a research establishment or higher education institution may also be considered.
    • Alternatively, candidates may have 15 years of administrative experience, including 8 years as Deputy Registrar or in an equivalent post.
Pay Scale/Salary:
  • Assistant Professor: Academic Level 10 with pay scale of Rs. 57,700/- to Rs. 1,82,400/-
  • Controller of Examinations: Academic Level 14 with pay scale of Rs. 1,44,200/- to Rs. 2,18,200/-

  • Assistant Professor: Rs. 1,500/- for others; Rs. 750/- for SC / ST candidates
  • Controller of Examinations: Rs. 2,000/- for others; Rs. 1,000/- for SC / ST candidates
