About the Organization: The Department of Higher Education is part of the Ministry of Education, Government of India. It is responsible for policy, planning and the development of infrastructure across India’s higher education sector. Its work focuses on expanding access to higher education and improving its quality through universities, colleges and other institutions. The Department also supports higher education through schemes, services and institutional initiatives.

  • Director, IIT Indore – 01 Post
  • Director, IIT Mandi – 01 Post
  • Director, IIT Delhi – 01 Post

Educational Qualification:

  • Candidates should hold a Ph.D. and have a first-class degree or equivalent in the preceding degree.
  • A degree in Engineering is preferred. Candidates with degrees in Science, Mathematics or Management may be considered in exceptional cases.

Experience:

  • Candidates should have at least 10 years of teaching experience as a Professor at a reputed Engineering or Technology institute or university, and should have guided Ph.D. students.
  • Candidates should have at least 5 years of administrative experience and the leadership qualities required to head an Institute of National Importance.
Pay Scale/Salary:
  • Fixed pay of Rs. 2,25,000 per month, with allowances as per rules.

Selection Process:

  • The Search-cum-Selection Committee will consider applications and nominations and recommend candidates for appointment, subject to approval by the Competent Authority.

  • Candidates should preferably be below 60 years of age on the last date for receipt of applications.
