About the Organization: The Centre for Research in Rural and Industrial Development (CRRID) is an autonomous research institute established in Chandigarh in 1978. It promotes research, publication, development and training, with a focus on the northwestern region of India. CRRID received national status in 1984 and is supported by the Indian Council of Social Science Research. Its centres include the Population Research Centre, established with support from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, and the Reserve Bank of India Chair.

Educational Qualification:

  • Associate Professor:
    • Candidates should have a Ph.D. in Demography / Population Studies / Statistics / Biostatistics / Economics / Mathematics / Sociology / Psychology / Anthropology / Geography / Social Work / Public Health.
    • Candidates should have a Master’s degree with at least 55% marks in a relevant subject, with a specialization or optional paper in Demography or Population Studies.
  • Assistant Professor:
    • Candidates should have a Master’s degree with at least 55% marks in a relevant subject, with a specialization or optional paper in Demography or Population Studies.
    • Candidates must have qualified UGC / CSIR NET or an equivalent UGC-accredited test such as SLET / SET, unless exempt under applicable UGC Ph.D. regulations.

Experience:

  • Associate Professor: Candidates shoud have at least 8 years of teaching and/or research experience in an academic or research position equivalent to Assistant Professor at a university, college, accredited research institution or industry.
Pay Scale/Salary:
  • Associate Professor: Rs. 37,400/- to Rs. 67,000/- plus Academic Grade Pay of Rs. 9,000/- and admissible allowances, with DA at 148% as stated in the advertisement.
  • Assistant Professor: Rs. 15,600/- to Rs. 39,100/- plus Academic Grade Pay of Rs. 6,000/- and admissible allowances, with DA at 148% as stated in the advertisement.
