Educational Qualification:

  • For Engineering Disciplines: Ph.D. in the relevant or equivalent discipline with First Class in the preceding degrees (B.Tech/B.E. in relevant discipline and M.Tech/M.E. in relevant specialization). Candidates with a Ph.D. directly after B.E./B.Tech are also eligible, provided they have obtained First Class at the Bachelor’s level.
  • For Basic Sciences: Ph.D. in the relevant or equivalent discipline with First Class in the preceding degrees (B.Sc. or equivalent in relevant discipline and M.Sc. or equivalent in relevant specialization).

Experience:

As per Schedule “E” of the Statutes of NIT vide Gazette of India No.651, Dated: July 24, 2017, previous experience must be from the Institute of repute as per oversight committee resolution (MoE Vide F.No.33-9/2011/TS.III, Dated: 16th April 2019- Annexure-XI with this advt.).

Pay Scale/Salary:

As per 7th CPC:

  • Assistant Professor Grade-II: Pay Level 10 (AGP ₹6,000)
  • Assistant Professor Grade-I: Pay Level 12 (AGP ₹8,000)
  • Associate Professor: Pay Level 13A2 (AGP ₹9,500)
  • Professor: Pay Level 14A (AGP ₹10,500)

Selection Process:

The selection process for faculty positions may consist of:

  • Shortlisting of candidates based on eligibility criteria
  • Written examination and/or presentation for further shortlisting
  • Final presentation and interview before the Selection Committee

The syllabus for the written examination will be based on UG, PG, and Ph.D. level courses of CFTIs/AICTE-approved institutes, along with the expected knowledge required for teaching in NITs.
