- Cancer Biology: Cancer cell biology, cancer metabolism, tumor immunology, metastasis, cancer stem cells, tumor-immune interactions, epigenetics, targeted therapeutics and drug resistance.
- Microbiology: Microbial physiology, microbial genetics / genomics, bacterial pathogenesis, antimicrobial resistance, microbial ecology, microbiome, microbial metabolism and environmental / industrial microbiology.

- Qualifications shall be as per the norms of the applicable statutory body.
