Educational Qualification:

  • Candidates should have a Ph.D. in the appropriate branch or discipline, First Class in the preceding degree and a very good academic record throughout.

Experience:

  • Professor: Candidates should have at least 10 years of teaching, research or industrial experience, including at least four years at the level of Associate Professor in an IIT, IISc, IIM, IISER or an institution of comparable standard.
  • Associate Professor: Candidates should have at least six years of post-Ph.D. teaching, research or professional experience, including at least three years as an Assistant Professor in an academic institution or in an equivalent position in a research organisation or industry.
  • Assistant Professor (Grade I / Grade II):
    • Relevant post-Ph.D. industrial, research or teaching experience will be considered.
    • Experience gained while pursuing the Ph.D. will not be counted.
    • Candidates with a fresh Ph.D. may apply.

Pay Scale/Salary:
  • Professor: Level 14A, starting basic pay of Rs. 1,59,100/- as per the 7th CPC
  • Associate Professor: Level 13A2, starting basic pay of Rs. 1,39,600/- as per the 7th CPC
  • Assistant Professor (Grade I / Grade II): Basic pay range of Rs. 84,700/- to Rs. 1,01,500/-, fixed according to relevant post-Ph.D. experience

Selection Process:

  • Applications will be screened based on qualifications, experience, and academic achievements.
  • The Institute may apply higher shortlisting criteria based on the specific requirements of the School or Centre.
  • Shortlisted candidates will be contacted by email and may be invited for an interview.
  • Candidates abroad, and candidates in India in exceptional circumstances, may be interviewed by video conference or other electronic means.
