The university evolved from the historic Rama Devi Women’s College founded in 1964 and is named after eminent freedom fighter and social reformer Rama Devi Choudhury. Educational Qualification:

  • Candidates should have a postgraduate degree in Social Sciences / Humanities, with a background in History, Political Science, or Economics.
  • Candidates should have a B.Ed. degree with at least 55% marks or an equivalent grade.
  • Candidates should have qualified NET / State Level Eligibility Test or hold a Ph.D. in the concerned subject, as prescribed by the UGC.
  • An M.Ed. or an M.Ed. with specialisation and a Ph.D. in Education is desirable.
Pay Scale/Salary:
  • Ph.D. candidates: Rs. 40,000/- per month.
  • UGC-NET-qualified candidates: Rs. 35,000/- per month (consolidated).

Age Limit:

  • Maximum age limit is 65 years.
