• Pure Mathematics
• Theoretical Physics, particularly quantum matter and information
• Theoretical Computer Science, including theory of cryptography, theoretical foundations of AI/ML, and mathematical aspects of quantum computing
• Computational Biology

• Fellow – E: Candidates should have a Ph.D. with at least 2 years of postdoctoral experience in the relevant domain.
• Reader – F: Candidates should have a Ph.D. with at least 5 years of postdoctoral experience in the relevant domain.

• Faculty are expected to conduct leading-edge research, mentor Ph.D. students, teach courses in the Institute’s Ph.D. and integrated Ph.D. programmes, and participate in administrative activities.
• Women candidates and candidates from other underrepresented groups are encouraged to apply.

• Pay Level 12 for Fellow – E and Pay Level 13 for Reader – F.

• Applications will undergo initial screening, and suitable applications may be processed further by the Institute.
• The Institute may obtain evaluation reports from experts in the applicant’s field of specialization.
• Shortlisted candidates are expected to give a research seminar and interact with IMSc faculty.
• Final selection will be based on recommendations of the Selection Committee constituted for this purpose.
