Educational Qualification:

  • Assistant Professor:
    • Candidates should have a good academic record and a Master’s degree with at least 55% marks or an equivalent grade in the relevant or an allied subject.
    • Candidates should have qualified the UGC/CSIR NET or an accredited test such as SLET/SET, or hold a Ph.D. that qualifies them for exemption under applicable UGC regulations.
    • Candidates with a Ph.D. from a foreign university or institution ranked among the top 500 by QS, Times Higher Education or ARWU may also be eligible under the stated criteria.

Candidate Profile:

  • Officer on Special Duty: Candidates should be serving or retired approved Principals of colleges affiliated with universities in Punjab, or serving or retired Professors at universities.
Pay Scale/Salary:
  • Officer on Special Duty: Fixed pay of Rs. 50,000/- per month.
  • Assistant Professor: Academic Level 10, with an entry pay of Rs. 57,700/- as per the 7th CPC Pay Matrix.

Selection Process:

  • Shortlisting and selection will follow the criteria approved by the University Syndicate.
  • Assistant Professor applicants must complete the Score Card Proforma as part of the online application.
  • Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview or counselling, as applicable.

Application Fee:

  • For SC/ST/PwD candidates: Rs. 590/- (including GST).
  • For other candidates: Rs. 1,180/- (including GST).
  • SC/ST/PwD candidates who are not domiciled in Punjab must pay Rs. 1,180/- (including GST).
