About the Organization: Sarbati Devi Women’s College, Rajgangpur, was established in 1981 with the aim of providing higher education to local girls. The college has grown into an important centre of learning for women in Sundargarh district and other parts of Odisha, offering programmes across arts, science and commerce. It currently has around 1,280 students and provides hostel facilities for approximately 300 students, with a focus on expanding access to higher education for students from tribal and backward communities. The college is accredited with a B+ grade by NAAC in its third cycle.

Educational Qualification:

  • Candidates should have a Master’s Degree with at least 55% marks in the concerned subject from a recognized university.
  • Only retired faculties of the concerned subject are eligible to apply through the HIMS Portal.

Experience:

  • Candidates must be retired teachers of public Universities/Degree Colleges, Government Colleges or Non-Government Aided Colleges and Sanskrit Colleges as specified in the guidelines.
  • Weightage shall be given for teaching experience in UG and PG classes as per the prescribed evaluation criteria.
Pay Scale/Salary:
  • Retired Assistant Professors up to Stage-II / Retired Lecturers without Ph.D.: Rs. 25,000/- per month for a minimum of 50 classes.
  • Retired Assistant Professors up to Stage-II / Retired Lecturers with Ph.D.: Rs. 30,000/- per month for a minimum of 50 classes.
  • Retired Assistant Professor Stage-III / Retired Associate Professor / Retired Reader without Ph.D.: Rs. 35,000/- per month for a minimum of 50 classes.
  • Retired Assistant Professor Stage-III / Retired Associate Professor / Retired Reader with Ph.D.: Rs. 40,000/- per month for a minimum of 50 classes.
  • Retired Professors: Rs. 50,000/- per month for a minimum of 50 classes.
  • If the number of classes taken is less than 50, remuneration shall be deducted proportionately.

Selection Process:

  • The selection of Guest Faculty shall be made by a Selection Committee constituted at the college level.
  • The Selection Committee shall scrutinize the applications followed by interaction with the candidates and preparation of a panel of selected candidates.
  • In case of more candidates than the required number for a subject, selection shall be made as per the objective evaluation system prescribed by the Department of Higher Education, Government of Odisha.
  • Weightage shall be given for good academic career, higher qualifications, teaching experience and research publications as per the prescribed evaluation criteria.

Age Limit:

  • The upper age limit of retired teachers as on the date of issue of advertisement should be within 69 years.
  • Selected candidates will be allowed for engagement till attaining 70 years of age.
