About the Organization: Nabakrushna Choudhury Centre for Development Studies (NCDS), Bhubaneswar, established in 1987, is an ICSSR institute set up in collaboration with the Government of Odisha. The Centre is a premier interdisciplinary social science research institute and policy think tank engaged in research, consultancy, training, and capacity building in economics, sociology, social anthropology, and development studies, supporting evidence-based policymaking and sustainable development.

Assistant Professor (On Contract Basis)

Departments:

  • Economics – 01 Post
  • Development Studies – 01 Post
  • Tribal & Dalit Studies – 01 Post

Educational Qualification:

  • Economics:
    • Candidates should have a Postgraduate degree in Economics with at least 55% marks from a recognized University.
    • Candidates should have NET/SLET or a Ph.D. in Economics or a related discipline.
  • Development Studies / Tribal & Dalit Studies:
    • Candidates should have a Postgraduate degree in any Social Science discipline with at least 55% marks from a recognized University.
    • Candidates should have NET/SLET or a Ph.D. in the Social Science relevant discipline.

Experience:

  • Research experience in conducting intensive fieldwork, socio-economic data analysis, or managing academic projects is desirable.
  • Proven research ability supported by peer-reviewed publications or policy/research papers is desirable.
  • Hands-on knowledge of quantitative/qualitative data analysis software such as SPSS, R, or STATA is desirable.
Pay Scale/Salary:

Consolidated remuneration of ₹55,000/- per month.

Selection Process:
