Educational Qualification:

  • Candidates should possess a Master’s Degree with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point-scale, wherever the grading system is followed) in the relevant discipline from a recognized Indian University or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.
  • Candidates should have qualified NET/SLET/SET conducted by the UGC, CSIR, or an accredited agency, or possess a Ph.D. awarded in accordance with the UGC Regulations, wherever applicable.
  • Candidates who have obtained a Ph.D. degree from a foreign university ranked among the top 500 universities in the world, as specified in the UGC Regulations, shall also be eligible for appointment.

Experience:

  • No prior teaching experience is mandatory for appointment to the post of Assistant Professor.
  • However, candidates having teaching or post-doctoral experience will be given due weightage during the shortlisting process based on the prescribed academic score criteria specified in Annexure-I (Table 3A).
Pay Scale/Salary:
  • Academic Level-10 (7th CPC)
  • Pay Scale: Rs. 57,700 – 1,82,400/-

Selection Process:

  • Applications will be screened based on the prescribed eligibility criteria and the applicable UGC Regulations.
  • The Academic Score specified in Annexure-I (Table 3A) will be considered only for shortlisting candidates for the interview.
  • The final selection will be based solely on the candidate’s performance in the interview.

Age Limit:

Service conditions and the age of superannuation shall be governed by the University of Ladakh Act, Statutes, Regulations, and applicable Government rules.
