About the Organization: Bihar State University Service Commission (BSUSC), Patna, is a statutory body constituted by the Government of Bihar under the Bihar State University Service Commission Act, 2017. Educational Qualification:

  • Candidates should have a consistently good academic record with a Master’s degree or equivalent in the relevant subject with at least 55% marks (or equivalent grade).
  • Candidates should have qualified UGC/CSIR NET or any other test accredited by the UGC for Assistant Professor, or possess a Ph.D. degree in accordance with the UGC Ph.D. Regulations, 2009/2016.

Pay Scale/Salary:

Consolidated monthly remuneration shall be as prescribed by the Government of Bihar for contractual Assistant Professors.

Selection Process:

  • The selection process consists of Academic Score evaluation and Interview-cum-Demonstration.
  • Academic Score carries 88 marks, and Interview-cum-Demonstration carries 12 marks.
  • Preparation of the merit list shall be based on the combined score obtained in Academic Evaluation and Interview-cum-Demonstration.

Age Limit:

  • The minimum age for appointment to the post of Assistant Professor is 21 years, and the maximum age is 43 years as on August 01, 2026.
